Out to Play summer programs offer deep immersive, unstructured play in the forest and meadows that follows the Forest and Nature School approach to learning: child-centred, inquiry-driven, educator-supported learning and connecting through play on the land.
The Fox program is offered each week of the summer. With 1:8 ratios and experienced staff, this active outdoor program offers immersive imaginative play opportunities, circle time, storytelling, art and a hike to a unique forested play space each day.
Location: The Out to Play Centre. Parking is at NCC Greenbelt P2. This location features large canvas wall tents, stump circles and fire pits, loose parts for big movement play, and a spacious meadow to run. The Out to Play Centre offers natural play spaces including the Adventure Playground, Beaver Dam and Fairy Glen. Nearby Trail #10 wanders down past the Oak Grove to the Ottawa River, where an occasional longer hike might lead us.
Please note: Though the address for the Out to Play Centre is 230 Davidson's Side Road, access is through the NCC Parking Lot P2 and not through Beetbox Farm.
